Patriarch of all-Russia and Moscow Alexi II will attend the solemn celebrations to be held in Azerbaijan this autumn on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the religious activities of Sheik-ul-Islam Haji Allahshukur Pashazada, the chairman of the Caucasus Moslems
Department (CMD), Trend reports.
Official invitation was presented to Patriarch during Sheik-ul-Islam’s recent visit to Moscow. Pashazada invited Alexi II on his behalf and on behalf of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to visit Azerbaijan.
The last meeting of the two religious leaders was held under the visit of Sheik-ul-Islam to Moscow for participation in 15th jubilee of religious activities of Alexi II.
During the talks the two clerical leaders discussed a wide range of vital issues concerning pacification, resolution of conflicts, expansion of inter-religion cooperation, joint resistance of aggressive mission expansion. The religious leaders plan to continue the talks in Baku.
