Cases of desertion decreased essentially in the army, a military prosecutor Hanlar Veliyev told journalists, Trend reports.
He noted, for the first half of 2005 these facts lowered as compared to the previous year. В"It is a positive thing. The number of crimes against the military service reduced by 24% in comparison to the last year and the first half вЂ"year of this one. In 2000-2002, 95% of cases under investigation were related to the facts of desertion, committed in early 1990sВ", - Veliyev noted.
According to him, the facts of desertion lowered 2,5 times as compared to the last year and the first half-year of the current one. В"These figures enable to confirm, we will root out the desertion in the Army in the nearest time”, Veliyev underlined.
