ELECTION BLOCK “BUILDERS OF CIVIL SOCIETY BROKEN, ITS CHAIRMAN BEATEN

On 22 August at around 11.00 a.m. three unknown persons attacked all of a sudden the residence of the election block “Builders of the Civil Society”, beat and inflicted heavy body injures to the leader of the election block, chairman of the Union of the resigned military servicemen Yadigar Djafarli, the National Democratic Party of Azerbaijan (NDPA) told Trend.

In connection with the event NDPA and the Election block “Builders of the Civil Society” sent an address to the Interior Minister Ramil Usubov, the Minister of the National Security Eldar Mahmudov, the Prosecutir General Zakir Garalov, diplomatic missions and international organizations, accredited in the country, human rights defenders and the mass media.

The address reads, the pressure against the opposition is executed in a more serious form, the psychological pressure against the individual representatives of the opposition turns into the use of force.

They report on the attack at the residence of the election block and injuries, inflicted to Yadigar Djafarli. At the result of the injuries Djafarli lost conscientiousness. After coming to his senses he found the equipment of the election block вЂ" tables, chairs, PC, telephones, copy machine and other objects are broken and out of order.

Although he applied to the police immediately, the police station inspector of the police department N27 of Yasamal district, mayor Asif Mamedov displayed indifference.

В"Such indifference of the police officer on the eve of the elections to the crime, committed at the residence o the election block, speaks of much. NDPA and the “Builders of the Civil Society” assess it as the vandalism and they demand from the law-enforcement bodies to find and punish the guilty party. The same time we request the diplomatic missions, the media to keep the incident in the focus of their attention”, the address reads.
