The price monitoring of 62 items of goods on the results of the third quarter will be held by the Ministry of Economic Development. The mentioned group of goods is recommended by the World Bank (WB) as the most suitable as indicator by determining the level of the population’s well-being and the number of poor citizen, the Minister of Economic Development (MED) Farhad Aliyev told Trend.
The list of goods was submitted to the State Committee on Statistics and accepted. Both new goods and the goods, which price monitoring has already been held during the first monitoring covering the entire quarter.
"The appropriate Decree was signed on 31 May and we carried out monitoring of the II quarter prices, i.e., for April, May, June. We monitored retail and import prices. Naturally, register of the wholesale prices is also needed. In this III quarter the list of goods which prices will be monitored will be extended, as well as the retail, wholesale and import prices will be specified.
Within the first monitoring the register of the wholesale prices was not held which is related to the officials statistics, where only the import and retails prices are taken into account. In this respect we then relied on the official statistics.
But in the II quarter we will take into account all three prices”, the Minister noted. Aliyev also stressed, it is sometimes rather difficult to set some prices for some goods, as a number of goods are sold by kilograms, which registering must be done in pieces. "Costumes, shoes, blouses and similar articles are imported in kilos.
However, these products are to be imported in accordance with the worldwide standards: costumes in pieces, shoes вЂ"in pairs and etc. We will pay a special attention to it in the third quarter”, the Minister noted.
