The elections in the Khankendi constituency will be held irrespective on participation of voters Armenian by origin in it, Rovzat Gasimov, the head of international relationships division at the Central Elections Commission (CEC), said. The appeals by CEC to the OSCE and other international organizations for assistance in compiling the voters’ lists remain unanswered. Nevertheless, the CEC will hold elections in the Khankandi Constituency 122 and the relevant preparatory work in this respect has been done, he underlined.

В"Unless the international organizations assist in compiling the list of citizens of Armenian nationality, the CEC will hold elections for the Azerbaijanis, to vote in the Khankendi Constituency. In compliance with the Azerbaijani legislation, no quorum is set for electors participating in the elections. So, the results of elections in Khankendi Elections Constituency 122 will be considered as legal,” an official of the CEC stressed. Gasimov added that 9 precinct elections commissions had been established in Khankandi constituency and there was no obstacle in the way of holding elections.
