INTERIOR MINISTRY POSSESSES ENOUGH FORCES TO PREVENT ILLEGAL ACTIONS IN BAKU

Statements by the representatives from the radical opposition on the use of students of the Police Academy and people having nothing to do with the law-enforcement bodies for breaking up the unsanctioned rally held last Saturday, do not correspond to reality, Ramil Usubov, the Azerbaijani Interior Minister, told journalists on Monday.

“The Azerbaijani Interior Ministry possesses enough forces to prevent illegal action in the center of Baku and there is no necessity for attracting the students or any other forces from the regions of country,” the Minister underlined.

Usubov announced that the Azerbaijani Interior Ministry did not rule out possible of weapons during the action staged by the opposition, noting that such action might panned for post-elections period.

“As to exiting data, the opposition might use the weapons immediately after the voting day. We are currently processing the version,” he stressed.

According to the Interior Minister, around 20-30 protestors used iron things enveloped in newspapers, which was not so surprising for police.

“The fact is currently investigated, whereas lawsuits can be filed on activities of the radical opposition in case if the fact is asserted,” Usubov underlined.

In the end the Interior Minister stated that irrespective of the color of tent the law-enforcement bodies will not allow the opposition to pitch up tents in Baku.
