“The Union of National Democratic Forces (UNDF) will adopt a statement and send it to the U.S. embassy in Azerbaijan at the meeting to be held on 5 October,” Elchin Mirzabayli, the deputy chairman of the Popular Front of Azerbaijan Party (PFAP).
According to Mirzabayli, the meeting of the UNDF will discuss the address by George Bush, the U.S. President, to congressmen and participation of some U.S. congressmen in the events staged in relation to the 14th anniversary of the so called the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. “We are against this. The double policy pursued by the United States will not strengthen its positions in the South Caucasus,” he added.
The statement will be translated into English and sent to all embassies acting in Azerbaijan and the U.S. State Department. The steps taken by the United States are not in favor of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijani society must to protest against it.
