The information on the Islam is misinterpreted to day in Europe, the Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) Akmeleddin Ihsanoglu made a statement on 4 October 2005 at the news conference, the Trend special correspondent in Strasbourg reports.

Having noted the availability of the committee on Turkey in the Council of Europe the head of OIC marked the important role of PACE towards this country.
В"Irrespective of the faith, language and culture all people are equal and all of them want to live well and get a good education”, Ihsanoglu stated”, noting that the state of women in Turkey even in 1940-1950ss was better than in the European countries.
The Secretary General of OIC said also, that religious constructions are preserved in Turkey even today and along with mosques there are synagogues and churches.
