РђRAZ РђZIMOV: PEACEFUL TALKS MUST CONTINUE TILL ALL RESOURCES EXHAUSTED

Peaceful negotiations on the Armenian вЂ" Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict must go on till all resources are exhausted, deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Araz Azimov told journalists on 12 October 2005, Trend reports.

В"There are still opportunities for the conflict settlement”, Arazov noted saying, for today the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmen plan to hold a number of meetings among themselves followed by visiting the South-Caucasus countries. After visiting the region the meeting of the co-chairs with the heads of Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia will be held in Ljubljana, where the meeting of the Foreign Ministries heads of OSCE member states will take place.

As for the date of the subsequent meeting of Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia, deputy FM head noted “the time of the new meeting is unknown”, adding “meetings of such level are held only in case of need”.

Commenting on the position of the official Baku on reports and proposals of the International Crisis Group (ICG) Araz Azimov noted, such institutions are unofficial structures. В"The ICG recommendations and proposals are merely the result of personal argumentations of this organization’s representatives. And I can only voice the opinion as an expert”, the diplomat said, noting, their proposals will not be viewed by Azerbaijan at the official level.

At the same time, Azimov noted, there are a lot of mistakes and shortcomings in the document, publicized by ICG, related to the “insufficient informational support and the lack of the experts’ professionalism.
