The State Minister on the conflict settlement issues Georgi Haindrava will arrive in Azerbaijan on 17 October 2005 on a working visit, the state advisor of the Azerbaijan’s President on the national issues Idayat Orudjev told Trend.
According to him, the Georgian authorities addressed officially to the Azerbaijani government on the Haindrava’s visit. В"The goal of his visit is meetings with representatives of the Ahyska Turks on the issue of their repatriation to Georgia”, Orudjev noted.
Haindrava will attend the Ahysk Turks compact residence places in Sabirabad and Saatly area of Azerbaijan, the chairman of the Ahysk Turks Vatan society in Azerbaijan Ibragim Burhanov told Trend.
Georgi Haindrava is the chairman of the commission on studying the issue of the Ahysk Turks deported from Georgia. The commission headed by him is to prepare recommendations related to their repatriation to Georgia. Georgia undertook commitments in 1998 to the Council of Europe on returning them to Georgia till 2012.
