DISCUSSIONS OF AZERBAIJAN’S STATE BUDGET DRAFT FOR 2006 GO ON

The discussion of the Azerbaijan’s state budget for 2006 continued on 13 October 2005 at the next sitting of the Milli Mejlis (MM). The Finance Minsiter Avez Alekperov made clear on the deputies’ questions on the draft, Trend reports.

The Minister voiced his attitude towards increase of the municipalities budgets, saying the amount grew by 50%.

The Minister noted, if not to take into account the revenues from the oil industry, the growth of the state budget is 40,2%. В"Along with this, there are also additional reserve sources”, Alekperov added. As for raising the children’s benefits, the Minister said, since 1 January 2006 they will be cancelled altogether. Introduction of the target benefits is proposed instead and the amount will be raised by 2 times.

The Minister responded the questions of the MM deputies on the budget of the Nachchevan Autonomous Republic, on aiding the Azerbaijani Diasporas abroad, installation of gas, power, water meters and other communal expenses, on the development of the regions.
