President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received on 14 October 2005 the Board chairman of the International Council of Russian Compatriots, member of the International Charity Foundation Board “Maecenas of the Century”, the count Petr Sheremetyev. During the talk held the count Sheremetyev conveyed the greeting of the France Senate President Christian Pansole who invited the President of Azerbaijan to Paris. Sheremetyev expressed also satisfaction by the restoration of the Orthodox Cathedral church in Baku.

According to the head of the state, for today in Azerbaijan representatives of many nationalities peacefully co-exist, which is the evidence of the religious and ethnic tolerance in Azerbaijan.
Ilham Aliyev reminded, that he met twice with the head of the French Senate leader, voicing hope for the soonest meeting with Pansole.
