U.S. Amb to open new dormitory at Ganja boarding school

U.S. Ambassador Reno L. Harnish is traveling to Ganja on October 26-27 to officially open a new dormitory at Pasha Huseynov Boarding School #1 in Ganja. The U.S. Ambassador and Azerbaijani government officials will speak at the opening ceremony on Thursday, October 27, at 11:30 a.m., the embassy told Trend

He will also meet with executive officials and a range of parliamentary candidates. The Ambassador will conduct a press conference about his trip to Ganja following the ceremony at 12:30 p.m.

The new dormitory will have 80 children. It contains bedrooms, a kitchen, dining room, recreation rooms, and toilet facilities, including all necessary equipment and furniture. The US Embassy’s Office of Defense Cooperation, which represents the U.S. military’s European Command, provided $180,000 in U.S. funding for the project, and worked closely with World Hope International, a non-profit organization, which coordinated the actual construction of the dormitory.

This is the seventh school project completed jointly by the Office of Defense Cooperation and World Hope: three more is under the construction.
