Headquarters of the CIS observers mission to open its branches in 4 large towns of Azerbaijan

The headquarters of the CIS observers’ mission will open its branches in 4 large towns of Azerbaijan for coordinating its work: in Nakhchevan, Lenkoran, Gyanja and Khachmaz, the headquarter’s mission report reads, according to Trend.

The CIS observers will perform their functions in 125 constituencies of Azerbaijan, the document notes. For today representatives of Belarus, Kazakstan, Kirgizistan, Russia, Tadjikistan, Uzbekistan, as well as the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the CIS states confirmed their participation in the in the mission.

The representatives of the mission’s headquarters visited Khachmaz region, where they met with the head of the executive power, chairmen of constituencies, attended election committees.

While visiting election committees a special attention was paid to preparations and specifying the electors’ lists, implementation of the Election Code provisions.

At the request of the Azadlig block a meeting with its representatives took place at the headquarters of the Democratic Party.

For the short period of time the CIS observers mission’s headquarter organized monitoring of electronic media news programs ("AzTV", "АNS", "Lider", "ATV" channels). The first results of the monitoring show, the TV channels cover the block’s and parties activities in the election process in most cases evenly. And monitoring of printing media (the newspapers “Zerkalo”, “Echo”, “Novoye Vremya” and etc.) show, that all candidates, political parties and alliances have the opportunity to express their position and preparations for the elections are widely covered.

The mission started its activities in Azerbaijan on 6 October.
