Heads of Parliament condemn opposition

Application of inking method in the parliamentary elections is index of the transparent position of the Azerbaijani authorities,” Murtuz Alasgarov, the chairman of the Milli Majlis (Parliament), told Trend.

Alasgarov noted that the decision of the authorities on application of inking method during the elections should not be regarded as the result of pressure exerted by international organizations and the opposition. “The President took all steps in direction of ensuring of transparent elections. We put an end to the arguments of the opposition and international organizations,” he added.

Alasgarov also stressed that the inking method in the elections was applied in Macedonia, Turkey and Georgia.

Arif Rahimzada, the first deputy chairman, reported that all steps taken by the President in the direction of democratic and transparent elections were positively perceived by the society. “Let the opposition not to cast a shadow to the elections,” he underlined.

Ziyafat Asgarov, the second deputy chairman, stressed that the foundations of the democracy and transparency were laid in the constitution. “Besides, signing of the two decrees by President Ilham Aliyev in this regard showed that the authorities focused on the issue,” he stated.

Z.Asgarov also reported that the opposition looked for mistakes in every step of the authorities. “If we adopt Koran as constitution, the opposition would find mistake again,” he added.
