The main thing is an integral assessment of the parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan to be given on the results of the voting day. It will exactly define how much these elections met the standards of the Council of Europe and other internationally accepted norms. Such was the comment to Trend of the Council of Europe
Venice Commission (VC) final conclusion on the Azerbaijan’s Election Code by the chairman of the Party of Democratic Reforms (PDR), a Milli Mejlis deputy Asim Mollazade.
He noted that the VC decision has been taken after signing the decree of 25 October “On immediate measures related to preparations and holding parliamentary elections”, therefore, “there is no need in changing this conclusion”.
The PDR chairman stressed, assessment of the forthcoming elections will be complex and therefore the final appraisal is to be waited for which will comprise the entire spectrum of the monitoring process, including the pre-election campaign, the voting, analyses of the legislative base and etc.
