President of Ukraine Victor Yushenko called to his Azerbaijan’s counterpart Ilham Aliyev. The heads of the states stressed development of relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine in various fields, Trend reports according to the information of the Azerbaijan President’s press service.
President of Ukraine showed interest in preparations to the forthcoming parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan and the latest events in the country. Aliyev noted a normal development of the general situation in the country.
Touching upon the processes taking place in Azerbaijan lately Aliyev noted, the release after detention in the Ukraine of “one of the representatives of the international mafia and charged with appropriation of over $ 117 million of state funds and announced in international search Rasul Guliyev caused the surprise and regret with the Azerbaijani public”. Aliyev underscored, such facts do not serve strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries, their cooperation in the framework of international institutions, including GUAM.
Heads of the states agreed to give instructions to Foreign Ministries of their countries related to preparations for holding meeting of Presidents of Azerbaijan and Ukraine.
