The standpoint of the official Baku on the parliamentary elections held is that they were a success and reflected the will of the Azerbaijani people, the head of the foreign ties department of the Azerbaijan’s President executive office, Novruz Mammadov told Trend exclusively.

According to him, some speculations are taking place in regard to the elections, however in general “we accept the assessments of the international observation mission”. Despite some differences in the position of the international observers themselves, on the whole it confirms the results achieved in the electoral process, Mammadov added. “We accept normally the mission’s statement that the elections have not met partly the OSCE commitments, the Council of Europe standards in regard to democratic elections, and that on the whole, the elections were a success”, Mammadov said and noted, there are about 10 items in the report, noting the positive achievements in the electoral process and negative moments are specified in 7-8 items, related mostly to the interference of the executive bodies to the electoral process.

Along with this, there was a statement by the American side, which the official Baku assesses positively. We think they comment duly the essence of the electoral process and this statement notes to some extent the progress in the elections. On the whole, it says on the positive results during the election campaign and along with this, it shows there were violations, falsifications and interference of the executive bodies”, Mammadov said.

According to him, the leadership of Azerbaijan admits certain violations at the elections and interference of executive bodies in the process. All complaints and statements related to the elections come in Central Election Committee (CEC), prosecutor’s office and investigated. And in case of need to take new decisions in regard to those polling stations where they had been marked, such steps will be taken, he summarized.
