Democratic Reforms Party notes some negative moments along with positive changes during parliamentary elections

“Analyzing the course and the results of the 6 November parliamentary elections, the Democratic Reforms Party mentioned some negative moments along with positive changes,” Trend reports referring to the message spread by the party. The message says that the elections reflect general situation in the country, imperfection of democratic institutes and low level of political culture.

“Registration of candidates was successful, practically all candidates received opportunity to participate in the elections and gain access to electron media. 2 presidential decrees signed on the eve of the elections established prerequisites for free and transparent expression of will. First of all, the question is the recommendations of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) to inject changes into the legislation and allow all NGOs to observe the elections, use transparent ink,” the document says.

The same time the party attach attention to some negative moments such as imperfection of election legislation caused monopolization of election committees by one party, �black

PR’ affected the election campaign, violence acts i.e. illegal actions of the opposition and excessive violence by law-enforcement bodies. Interference by administrative and executive bodies affected the course of the election campaign.

Many of local and international organizations attempted to hold exit poll, but in some cases unfair and unprofessional personnel were involved in the process, and the results of inquiries did not meet the real situation.

“The country need of serious democratic reforms, particularly, reforming of election system. The current election system demonstrated discrepancy to international standards. It established opportunity to violate elections and negative impact on free expression of will,” the message says.
