The official Baku is not the supporter of foreign military bases stationing in Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister (FM) Elmar Mammadyarov came out with such a statement, Trend reports.
The FM head reminded that in line with the legislation of Azerbaijan stationing of any foreign bases within the country is banned. Mammadyarov noted, “deployment of bases is rather a complicated process”. The parliaments of each country may have their own standpoints in regard to military bases”, Mammadyarov stressed.
Voicing his position in regard to peace-keeping forces placement in the region, the Azerbaijan’s FM head noted, the issue is “first of all stipulated by the mandate of the peace-keeping forces”. В"And we have not set to its elaborating. The sides must understand, these forces will not represent any of the OSCE Minsk group countries and adjoining states”, Mammadyarov said, noting, there is common understanding both in Azerbaijan and Armenia and by the OSCE Minsk group co-chairs.
В"In case peace-keeping operations will be conducted in the South Caucasus, it will be only within the OSCE frameworks”, Mammadyarov summarized.
