14-th meeting of Economic Forum due in Vienna on 23-24 January 2006

The first part of the Economic Forums 14-th meeting will be held on 23-24 January 2006 in Vienna. The meeting will be dedicated to the subject Transport in the OSCE region: Safe transport networks and transport development for strengthening regional economic cooperation and stability, Trend reports citing the OSCE Secretariat.

The Economic Forum will view the progress of commitments in the field of the economic-environmental dimension with the account of the tasks set. The commitments in respect of transport will be regarded. Besides, discussion of the work on fulfillment of of the OSCE document-strategy provisions in the field of economic and environmental dimension will be held.

The following international organizations are invited to take part in the Forums 14-th meeting: GUAM, the European Conference of Transport Ministers (ECTM), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the International Migration Organization, the Organization of Collective Security Treaty, the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC), the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (BSECO), the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and other relevant institutions.

The Mediterranean cooperation partners (Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Morocco and Tunis) and cooperation partners Afghanistan, Korea, Mongolia, Thailand and Japan are invited to take part in the forum.

The Forums second part will be held on 22-24 May 2006 in Prague.
