In January to November 2005 the communications enterprises provided population and economic subjects with services worth 1.9trln manats, or 32.2% over the year-on-year indicator.

Of them 24.7% was rendered to public enterprises, 75.3% - private companies, which rose 13.8% and 39.6% respectively. A total of 75% of all services was delivered to people.

In January to November 2005 the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies invested 125.3bn manats in the telecommunications sphere. The funds were directed at the reconstruction of the communications facilities, construction of new telephone lines in the outskirts Baku and in the regions of Azerbaijan.

Significant rise was observed in regions: the telecommunications services in the economic zone Aran - 12.5%, Absheron - 19%, Guba Khachmaz 11.5%, Shirvan 13.9%, Shaki Zakatala 14.2%, Ganja-Gazakh 10.8%, Nakhchivan - 12.4% and in Lankaran - 10.8%.

In this period Aztelekom invested 62.9bn manats in the development of the communications sector, Baki Telefon Rabitasi - 41.7m manats, Teleradio 10.7bn manats and Azerpocta 5.6bn manats.

In January to August 2005 the Ministry of communications and Information Technologies put into exploitation 140,715 telephone numbers. 70,646 numbers of fell on Aztelekom Production Association and 70,069 numbers on Baki Telefon Rabitasi PA.

Incomes from communications comprised 675bn manats. The ministry said incomes from the community payments amounted to 249bn manats. The figure exceeded 2004 figure 121bn manats and 30bn manats respectively.

Incomes from the mobile communications comprised 68.8% of all communications services, or 42.4% up as compared to last year and comprised 1,311,8bn manats.
