No quorum in congress called by Ali Aliyev

There is no quorum in the extraordinary congress of the Azerbaijan National Independence Party (ANIP) called by Ali Aliyev on 21 January, Trendreports.

The congress was held in the assembly hall of the Azerbaijan Democratic Party. Only 100 delegates were registered from 11.00am to 12.00pm [local hours], while quorum requires existence of over 190 delegates in accordance with the regulations of the party.

Aliyev stressed that if there was no quorum on the first day, holding of the congress on the next day was regarded as lawful with the real number of participants. Therefore, Aliyev intend to hold the congress on 22 January, which will be regarded as lawful with the real number of delegates.

It should be mentioned that Etibar Mammadov, the leader of ANIP, also intend to hold a congress of his supporters on 22 January.
