Azadlig bloc co-chairs left for Strasbourg

The Azadlig bloc co-chairmen left for Strasburg to take part in the session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). The chairman of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA- reformists) Ali Kerimli, the first deputy of the Democratic Party of Azerbaijan (DPA) Sardar Djalalogli left for France, Trend reports. The Musavat party chairman Isa Gambar and the National Unity movement leader Lala Shovket could not go due to the visa problems. They are expected to leave for Strasburg on 23 January, Trend reports.

The New Policy bloc co-founder Eldar Namazov, who received invitation to the session from PACE has not yet taken a decision in regard to his tour to Strasburg. He said he is currently discussing the issue with his colleagues from the alliance, at the result of which they will come to the respective decision.

The opposition leaders will take part in discussions in regard to the 6 November parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan in the framework of the PACE winter session on 26 January 2006.
