The Elections Code (EC) will not be a topic of discussions at Milli Majlis [parliament]. Trend quotes Ramiz Mehdiyev, the head of staff of the Azerbaijani Presidents Executive Power, as stating to the local television channel ATV.
The Code reflects all necessary issues, including the formation of the elections commissions. The opinion on the necessity of consideration of the issue in high legislative body is still to be formed, Mehdiyev noted. The EC was adopted with the consideration of the Council of Europe.
The existing Elections Code fully allows holding democratic elections, the head-of-staff told Trend.
