Exchange of information on fight against international terrorism between states to be one of leading criteria

Exchange of information on fight against international terrorism between the states is one of the leading criteria, the police service executive director of the Interpol General Secretariat Jan-Michel Lubutan said in his speech at the 1 February second meeting in Baku within the Kalkan Interpol project, Trend reports.

He said terrorism is the global problem. The international criminal police organization Interpol carries out various projects taking it into consideration. One of these projects is the Kalkan project, which implementation commenced in 2004. The projects goal is discussing the issues of terrorism and its manifestations in respective areas, enhancement and improvement of cooperation and exchange of information on fighting terrorism, unification of terrorist networks operating at the regional and international level and having links in various countries

, giving some practical recommendations to the member states.

В"The first working group on the Kalkan project was held last year in Alma-Ata (Kazakstan) and this meeting was of a large significance. The Interpol General Secretariat while implementing this project during the previous period in the Central Asia and its neighboring states reveals problems in fighting terrorism: membership in terrorist organizations, funding terrorism, use of forged stolen documents by terrorist organizations, organizers of terrorist training camps and other issues, Lubutan said.
