Sumgayit took the first place last year on the number of people trafficking victims, the OSCE national coordinator on the fight against people trafficking, deputy Interior Minister Vilayat Eyvazov told yesterday at the workshop dedicated to the role of the press in the fight against the people trafficking, Trend reports.
According to the deputy Minister, the towns of Gazakh and Gyandja are on the second place. В"The facts of people trafficking are recorded throughout the country. State level measures are taken for struggle with such kind of crimes. On the whole, 275 victims have been revealed last year, deputy Minister said, noting a three-storey building is under construction now on the area of the Narimanov district for rehabilitation of the trafficking victims.
The head of the department on fighting against the people trafficking under the Directorate on the fight against the organized crime Imran Nadjafov noted two months passed since the compulsory treatment of the trafficking victims cancelled. В"They are undergoing medical check-up at the dermatovenereologic dispensary and then agree voluntarily to treatment, Nadjafov said, noting in future the victims of the people trafficking will be paid compensation both from the state budget and donations from private persons.
It has been stated at the workshop, the FBI officers are in Baku now for investigating facts of obtaining visas and documents at the US Embassy aimed at the people trafficking.
