The Azerbaijani Central Election Commission (CEC) is due to reflect the proportion of the political forces in the society, MP Mubariz Gurbanly, the deputy secretary of the New Azerbaijan Party (NAP), told Trend.

The opposition expressed protest against participation of the parties, supporting the policy of NAP and being in minority in Parliament, in formation of new CEC. They stated that the representative of these parties was not due to join the composition of 6 representatives at CEC.

Gurbanly stressed impossibility of it. He said that NAP did not join any block in the parliamentary elections. If we gathered with any political organizations around single program and block till the parliamentary elections, the accusations would be well-founded, he noted.

Gurbanly said nobody could determine which party was opposition and which - pro-governmental, but NAP was only ruling party. Other criteria are determined by political science. Therefore, they are eligible to participate in the process on equal rights, he added.
