Values' civil union not to hold unsanctioned rally

The Values civil union will file a suit against the Baku Executive Power, Ilgar Ibrahimoglu, the head of the organization, also imam of Juma mosque, told Trend.

He noted that the reason for this step was refusal by city authorities to sanction the rally, planned at the initiative of the religious union, consisting of non-governmental organiztaions, at Galaba square on 11 February . According to Ibrahimoglu, the organization took the step due to contradiction between the decision by the city authorities and the Law on freedom of assembly. The documents are under preparation in order to appeal to the court, he added.

Ibrahimoglu also noted that they were far from idea on holding of unsanctioned rally. We will address to the Baku Executive Power anew to hold the rally. If we dont receive satisfied reply again, we will appeal to appropriate instances anew, he stressed.

It should be mentioned that the believers intent to hold the rally with request on cessation of offensive acts against Islam in some western countries.
