No bird flu-diseased people were registered in Azerbaijan, Leila Seyidbayova

No bird flu-diseased people were registered in Azerbaijan, Leila Seyidbayova, the head of the Baku Central Health Department, told Trend on Saturday.

According to Seyidbayova, the people, addressed to the medical institutions with similar symptoms, gave blood tests, which were sent to laboratories of the World Health Organization in Cairo through the Azerbaijani Health Ministry. Test yielded negative results, she said.

Seyidbayova stressed that the Research Institute of Lung Diseases and the Baku Infection Diseases Hospital 7 were allocated for hospitalization of bird flu-diseased people. These medical institutes were provided with all necessary conditions, particularly, reanimation services.

We can allocate other hospitals in case of wide spreading of the virus, Seyidbayova said. Besides, the Baku Central Health Department gave instructions on thermometry at secondary schools and universities.

Within the struggle with bird flu the Health Ministry purchased 550 packages of medicines, special suits for doctors, who will communicate with bird flu-diseased people. It can buy suits additionally in case of necessity.
