The Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations hopes that links between Azerbaijan and Israel will develop in future as well, the chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, Harold Tanner said in a statement today during the meeting with the Azerbaijan Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, Trend reports. He noted Israel and the USA attach a special significance to Azerbaijan.
As the Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry press center reports, the Minister, touching upon the issues of existing strategic relations between Azerbaijan and the USA noted the important role of the Jewish organizations in the United States. He also spoke about the issue of the Azerbaijan-Israel relations, the relations of Azerbaijan with the countries of the region, the role of the international economic projects, such as Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan, Baku-Tbilsi-Erzerum and Baku-Tbilisi- Ahalkalaki-Kars for the energy security and the infrastructure development.
Mammadyarov noted especially traditional peaceful co-existence of various confessions in Azerbaijan: Islam, Christianity and Judaism. The Minister informed the guests of the current stage of the negotiation process on the Nagorny Karabakh process peaceful settlement.
