Leonid Kuchma, the President of the Ukraine Foundation, ex-President of Ukraine, arrived in Baku on Tuesday, Trend reports in reference to AzerTaj state news agency. He paid the visit at the invitation of the Azerbaijani President, Ilham Aliyev.
At Heydar Aliyev airport the eminent guest was welcomed by the deputy foreign minister, Khalaf Khalafov, as well as the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Ukraine, Talat Aliyev.
Talking to journalists Kuchma said that he arrived in Baku with regard to get familiar with the situation in the country. To hear from newspapers and television reports on rapid growth pace of Azerbaijan is absolutely different than to see with own eyes, ex-President underlined.
Touching upon current state of bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ukraine Kuchma noted that the relations weakened a little bit and there were no permanent relationships in any field despite huge capacities. I say it based on high and stable development of Azerbaijani economy, the President of the Fund stressed.
