DPA regional branches may suspend their activities

Some regional branches of the Democratic Party of Azerbaijan (DPA) passed to the ruling New Azerbaijan Party (YAP), the DPA deputy chairman Hosrov Rustamov told Trend.

Rustmaov connected it with the situation which has emerged inside the party after the

6 November parliamentary elections. He said, that DPA branches in Yardimli and Babek areas which switched to YAP, could not function after the elections. The DPA deputy chairman said, the organizations will be set up in the above-mentioned areas again and the chairmen will be appointed after the conferences. Rustamov complained also for the activities of some district brances. He noted that Nasimi district branch turned into the kind of Aydin Guliyevs monopoly, who had been removed from the supreme mejlis.

Rustmaov reported also, the party structuring in Kazakh and Lyankaran has been held weakly. В"There are only cells of our party in these areas. At the result of inactivity of our members the regional branches cannot function at the desired level. The DPA official spokesman said also, in case the situation continues the regional branches may even halt their activities.
