The number of the candidates balloting in the 13 May 2006 by-elections increased by 10 and reached 138, the Azerbaijani Central Election Committee (CEC) told Trend .
From 136 approved candidates 23 completed collection of signatures and handed in subscription lists. 4 candidates passed registration, while one person withdrew his candidacy.
19 people are members of New Azerbaijan Party, 5 -Musavat Party, 2 - Communist Party, 2- Adalat party. The Civil Solidarity Party, Popular Democracy Party, United Popular Front of Azerbaijan Party, Republican Party, Umid Party, Civil Unity Party, Great Azerbaijan Party, World of Democratic Azerbaijan Party and Popular Front of Azerbaijan Party (classics) nominated per one candidate. Most of candidates are nonparty.
