Azeri embassy in Georgia holds events on 14th anniversary of Khojaly tragedy

From 24 to 25 February the Azerbaijani embassy in Georgia holds mourning events in Tbilisi and the Gardabannni region on the 14 anniversary of the tragedy, committed by Armenians in the Khojaly town, the Nagorno-Karabakh region, Azerbaijan.

Attending the events will be members of the Azerbaijani and the Georgian communities, representatives of the Georgian Parliament and government, as well as diplomatic missions accredited in Georgia, the press service of the Azerbaijani embassy told Trend. Surkhay Aliyev, the Azerbaijani charge daffair of Georgia, plans to come out in the framework of the events.

The participants of the events will see the film, dedicated to the tragic pages both of the Azerbaijani and the world history, when civilians of small town were subjected to the genocide, which may be equaled to the tragedies Sangma, Babiy Yar and Oswiecim. The memory of the innocent victims of the genocide will be honored with a minute of silence.

Besides, the Azerbaijani embassy organized a photo exhibition, dedicated to the victims of the Khojaly genocide, as well as presentation of publications Real facts on Karabakh, prepared by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
