Azeri oil market: results of week

From 20 through 24 February URAL (EX-NOVO) average price, sold by Azerbaijan in Novorossiysk port, was $61.31 per barrel or $2.25 barrel down as compared to the last week (13 - 17 February), Trend reports.

Maximal price of AZERI LT was $62.86 per barrel on 24 February (rose $2.77 per barrel as compared to last week). Minimal price of AZERI LT was fixed at $60.60 per barrel (22 February), or $2.69 per barrel up than last week figure fixed on 16 February.

Last week price of URAL (EX-NOVO), marketed at the Novorossiysk port, was $54.78 per barrel, or $1.93 per barrel more than the previous week. The density of oil URAL is 31.85 degrees by API, sulphur content 1.8%.

URAL(EX-NOVO) maximal price comprised $56.17 on 24 February, or $2.95 a barrel more as compared to last week (17 February), minimal one - $54.16 on 22 February, or $1.97 down as compared to last week (16 February).

Brent average price (DTD) was $59.39 per barrel ($1.65 up per barrel). Brent maximal price comprised $60.29 on 24 February, or $1.30 per barrel up as compared to last week. Minimal price of Brent was $58.73 on 22 February, or $2.88 per barrel as compared to last week (16 February).

The density of Azeri Light is 34.6 degrees by API, sulphur content 0.14%.

The density of oil URAL is 32 degrees by API, sulphur content - 1.3%. The density of oil DTD is 38.3 degrees by API, sulphur content - 0.36%. The density of URAL is 32 degrees by API, the sulphur content 1.3%. The density of DTD oil is 38.3 degrees by API, the sulphur content 0.36%.

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) plans to sell 85,000 tons of Urals oil from the port of Novorossiysk in March 2006, SOCAR told Trend. The tender will be announced next week. The tanker will be shipped from pier N2 at the Novorossiyk terminal.

In 2005, SOCAR shipped 1,631 million tons of oil from Novorossiysk against 2,559 million tons in 2004. In December 2005 the oil shipment from Novorossiysk was 86,500 tons against 167,200 tons a month before and 166,300 tons in December 2004.

In 2005 Glencore was the major trader of SOCAR oil from Novorossiysk - 557,000 tons and it was followed by the Russian LUKOIL with 464,000 tons.
