The Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry (FM) head Elmar Mammadyarov has received today the UN Commission special rapporteur on Human Rights and Freedom of religion or belief Mrs. Asma Jahangir, the Azerbaijan FM press centre told Trend .
During the meeting Mammadyarov drew the attention of the UN special rapporteur to the problem of freedom of conscience and belief in Azerbaijan, religious tolerance, joint existing of various religious confessions representatives.
Having noted availability of the religious politicization problem in the world Mrs. Jahangir got interested in the situation in Azerbaijan. According to the special co-rapporteur, which pays visits to this or that country only by invitation of the countries authorities, some countries of the region have not invited her to their countries so far. Mrs. Jahangir noted also tolerance in Azerbaijan.
