The Azerbaijan Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received today the leader of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for support of Europe (ALDE), Graham Watson, the Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry press centre told Trend.
The Minister said, consultations of the Azerbaijan and the European Union experts over the European Neighbourhood Policy initiatives will be continued on 7 March in Brussels. He also said, integration into the European and North-Atlantic structures is the basic line of the foreign policy and informed of the reforms carried out in politics
, economics, legislation and other spheres.
Watson said the South Caucasus countries are in the focus of attention in Europe. According to him, for development of relations establishing of stability, democracy and the rule of law in the region is important.
Mammadyarov underlined, the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and non-constructive position of Armenia in the peaceful settlement of the problem not only impedes the integration processes but the socio-integration development of the region.
