From the projects on funding political parties by the state we will accept that which will meet the realities of Azerbaijan, deputy executive secretary of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party (YAP), a MP Siyavush Novruzov told Trend.

It should be noted, since 27 February on the initiative of the OSCE Baku office the workshop on Funding political parties and Election system is being held between the leaders of political parties. Debates on the Election system were held on the workshops first day. And today the subject of discussions was Funding of political parties.

Novruzov said the issue is within the powers of the Parliament. В"In Turkey this issue is regulated in 4 stages. In Russia there are parties denying the state funding, as there is control over the state financing there.

The YAP official spokesman underlined also, in line with the existing legislation any party is to report to relevant bodies, members, leading structures aimed at ensuring transparency.

The first deputy of the Democratic Party of Azerbaijan (DPA) Sardar Djalaloglu thinks the main goal for raising the issue is the strict control over the parties activities. He said, by implementing this process the state wants to maximal restrict the parties activities, and after revealing the funding sources to neutralize them.

The Musavat party chairman Isa Gambar finds, funding the parties by the state is a right practice. Gambar noting that application of this in Azerbaijan is slightly complicated said he is supporting the process of funds allocation to be regulated based on the official votes of the Central Election Committee.

The co-chair of the Azerbaijan Social Democratic party (SDPA) Araz Alizade doubts that after reflecting the political parties funding issue in the existing legislation by the state it will be enforced. В"Once in the Law on political parties providing of political parties by the head office is not ensured, the state, in general, will not focus its attention on funding problems.
