Azeri president off to Japan

On Tuesday Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev left for Japan with an official visit, Trend reports. Mehriban Aliyeva, the first lady, accompanies the head of state in the tour.

Novruz Mammadov the head of the Foreign Relationships Department of the Presidents Apparat, told Trend that during the visit from 7 to 10 March the Azerbaijani president will hold a number of bilateral meetings, including talks with the Japanese Emperor and Prime Minister, to hold exchange of opinions on issues of mutual interest.

Moreover, the Azerbaijani president intends to heads of big Japanese companies, including Itochu and Inpex, the president of the International Agency for Cooperation, heads of the Azerbaijani-Japanese league of interparliamentary friendship.

Aliyev will participate in some events, including the Azerbaijani-Japanese economic forum with the participation of heads of some official bodies and businessmen from Azerbaijan.

As a result of result of talks the sides are expected to sign bilateral documents. The Japanese Prime Minister and the Azerbaijani President will issue a joint statement and there will be signed a memorandum on cooperation between the Foreign Ministries, as well as agreement on technical economic cooperation.
