Next meeting of SWG on status of Caspian Sea due in Moscow from 14 to 15 Mar

The next 20th meeting of the special working group (SWG) on determination of the legal status of the Caspian Sea will be held in Moscow from 14 to 15 March, the Russian Foreign Affairs Ministry told Trend.

The delegation will be led by Deputy Foreign Ministers from Caspian countries Russia, Iran, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan. The Russian Ministry noted that the work on the draft convention on the legal status of the Caspian Sea would be continued.

The document reflects issues related to exploitation of natural resources of the Caspian Sea, particularly, oil and gas, shipping, fishery and ecology. The working group was established at the decision by the Foreign Ministers of the Caspian countries 9 years ago, ITAR-TASS reports.
