EU special rep on S Caucasus in consultations with Baku

Peter Semnebi, special representative of the European Union for South Caucasus, is currently holding consultations in Baku in the bilateral cooperation between the EU and Azerbaijan, the Foreign Ministry announced. On 17 March Semnebi will meet with the Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister, Araz Azimov.

During the meeting sides mulled the development of bilateral cooperation under eth EUs Initiative on New Neighborhood Policy, outlined future steps for the implementation of this step.

The diplomat will have his first meeting at the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, after meet with speaker of the parliament, Oktai Asadov, Prime Minister Artur Rasizade, head-of-staff of the Presidents Executive Power, Ramiz Mehdiyev and President Ilham Aliyev.

EU special representative also plans to meet with representatives of political parties and non-governmental organizations of the country.

He will hold a news conference at Hyatt Regency Hotel of Baku at the end of the visit on 17 March.
