Igbal Agazade: Genocide Day has to be discussed in parliament

Politics Materials 24 March 2006 18:07 (UTC +04:00)

Discussion has to be held in parliament to address the issue of the national genocide day March 31, Umid party chairman, MP Igbal Agazade told Trend.

He said that Milli Mejlis has to adopt a document on Hodjali genocide and send

it to other parliaments in the world. Absence of such document allows different countries to take a diverse position on the issue, Agazade said.

He reminded the earlier demand made by the Great National Conference of Turkey on February 26 2002 regarding the Hodjali genocide. They asked if there is a document addressed to the parliaments and international courts and stating the genocide, so Turkey could accept this event as genocide on the basis of this document, he said.

A special working group on Hodjali genocide has to be created and discussions should be held in parliament to address the issue of the genocide, MP said.
