Azeri president receives Italian justice minister

On Thursday Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani President, received the delegation led by Senator Roberto Castelli, the Italian Justice Minister, Trend reports.

At the meeting Aliyev stressed the bilateral relations were successfully developing. He recollected his official visit to Italy in 2005. He noted that during the negotiations in Rome the sides discussed the development of the bilateral cooperation in different fields.

The dialogue between Italy and Azerbaijan is intensively held in different levels, Aliyev added. He voiced hope that the current visit of Castelli would make its contribution into development of the Azerbaijani-Italian cooperation

In his turn, Castelli highly appreciated the bilateral relations and expressed assurance in the further development of the bilateral cooperation.

Castelli handed over the letter by Silvio Berlusconi, the Italian Primer, to the Azerbaijani President. The visit of Aliyev to Rome stimulated development of the bilateral cooperation. Commission of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline will serve as proof of the positive development of the economic and political sphere in Azerbaijan, as well as success for energy sector, where Italian companies also participate. Italy is always ready to assist to Azerbaijan in integration to Europe, the letter says.

Berlusconi also writes that Italian companies were interested in putting investment in the economy of Azerbaijan.
