Azerbaijan transfers $20,000 to UN Central Fund on Emergencies
The Azerbaijani government has transferred $20,000 to the budget of the new established UN Central Fund of Emergencies, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry announced.
The Fund established in March will ensure the implementation of rescue measures during the humanitarian calamities, delivery of financial assistance. 1/3 of the Funds resources will be directed at humanitarian crisis, which are out of attention of donors and international community. The Funds donor-countries currently number 39. The list is topped by the UK, which remitted $70m to the Fund. Azerbaijan, Estonia, Croatia and Armenia also enter the list.
