Consumer market

In February 2006 a rise of the retail goods turnover got restored amid continuing rise of the community services. In January to February the amount of retail goods turnover comprised 851.4m manats, or 11.7% up as compared to last year. The commercial services delivered to population comprised 177.3bn manats, or 30.5% up as compared to last.

Prices

In February inflation ratio rose inconsiderably. All major groups of goods played the key role in cut of inflation ratio. The consumer prices grew 6.1%.

As compared to Last year the growth was 7%, or 2.9% less than January.

Inconsiderable rise in growth pace of inflation was caused by rise of growth pace of prices on all major category of goods and services. Prices of foodstuff rose 5%, or 6.3% more than 2005. Non-foodstuff prices grew inconsiderably 2.2%, or 4.7% more than previous year

As compared to December 2005 in February index of industrial goods product grew 9.7%, or 1.1% more than January 2006. Rise over two months made up 18.1%. Prices in oil and gas production rose 48.6%, refinery of chemical products 6.4%, while in February the growth was 0.4%, metallurgy 4.8% and 7.2% respectively. In energy sector the prices remained unchanged and comprised 99.9%.
