PACE monitoring committee increases number of its parliamentary elections observers to 20  Samed Seyidov

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) delegation composed of 20 persons will arrive to Azerbaijan to monitor the parliamentary elections on May 13 2006. The given decision has been taken at todays meeting of the PACE monitoring committee, Trend correspondent reports from Strasbourg.

Initially it was planned to send 4-5 persons to Azerbaijan, although this figure has been increased at the recent meeting of the committee, head of the Azerbaijani PACE delegation, Samed Seyidov told.

Several performances have been held during the meeting, including speech of the Dutch MP, Leo Platvoed. After the last week discussions with the Venice commission representatives, PACE monitoring committee has significantly changed its approach towards Azerbaijan, Seyidov said.
