In case of use of less powerful nuclear arms the zone with stronger radiation will expand no less than 2km. The radiation background in the radius of 10km will be a bit lower. However, the wind can drive away the radiation clouds in several hundreds of kilometers. Adil Garibov, the Director of the Institute Radiation Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, told Trend about it.

During his remarks on 18 April US President George W.Bush stated his readiness to consider possible ways for it to tackle creation of nuclear arms by Iran, including the military operations.

The use of nuclear arms by the United States, even those of local character, during the possible operations in Iran, is impossible. The United States is one of the strong supporters of the UN international convention on non-application of nuclear arms, even of local character, according to Garibov.

In case the nuclear facilities in Iran are blown, they will more probably use high-powered conventional explosive substances. However, the nuclear blast is impossible, as Iran does not possess such arms, Garibov underlined. The United States carried out similar operations in Iraq while destructing centrifuge used for enrichment of uranium, he concluded.
