Visit program of PACE observation mission in Azerbaijan publicized

A program of the visit of the PACE observation mission to Baku on the re-run parliamentary elections scheduled for 13 May 2006. The CEs Information Office in Baku told Trend that the 5-member delegation headed by Leo Platvoed, a Dutch MP, will arrive in Baku on Wednesday evening (26 April).

The official program of the visit will start on 27 April with a meeting with the Azerbaijani parliamentary delegates at the PACE. After, Baku Office of the CE will host a meeting with the OSCE/ODIHR observers.

Later the mission will have talks with the chairman of the Central Elections Commission (CEC), Mazahir Panahov, the Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov, the Deputy Chairman of the Constitution Court, Sona Salmanova.

On Thursday evening (27 April) the mission is scheduled to meet with heads of the embassies of the CE member-countries in Baku.

On Friday (28 April) the PACE mission will holds a meeting with the heads of the political parties, in particular, leaders of Azadlyg bloc, a largest opposition alliance, YeS and the National Unity Movement. They are also scheduled to meet with the representatives of the Coordinating Council on free and fair elections, as well as heads of leading media units. After dinner the mission will have talks Interior Minister and the Deputy Foreign Minister, Mahmud Mammadguliyev.

In the end of the visit the mission will hold a news conference at the CE office in Baku at 17:00pm [Baku time].
