Milli Mejlis decided to discuss the act of amnesty in the regard with the 15th anniversary of the Azerbaijan independence on May 28, the Umid party chairman, MP, Igbal Agazadeh told Trend.
Amnesties have been granted several times up to now. But they did not cover all social groups. There are people older than 70 years old sentenced to life and it is very hard to include them all in the amnesty lists, Agazadeh told.
MP suggested creating a work group in the permanent commission on human rights in parliament in order to discuss this issue.
